OVER 60 YEARS COMBINED
Bullbreeds United didn't begin with a website or a registry.
Nick has spent more than 40 years with bullbreeds, and Abby almost 20. Between them, that experience covers just about every side of life with dogs — breeding, training, rescuing, showing, owning and judging.
Those decades of hands-on experience, the dogs they've learned from, the people they've met and the changes they've watched happen within the breeds are ultimately what led to Bullbreeds United.
This didn't start with a registry. It started with the dogs.

Since the 1990s, London Victorian Bulldogs has been a group of dedicated breeders working to preserve the Victorian Bulldog true to Ken Mollett's original vision.
Through generations of careful breeding, the focus has remained on maintaining the type, character and qualities the Victorian Bulldog was created to have.
All these years later, those bloodlines are still producing dogs that run true to type — a living continuation of the work that began decades ago.
That commitment to preserving a breed without losing sight of what it was meant to be would later become an important part of the thinking behind Bullbreeds United.

Barbiebulls started almost 20 years ago, born from huge vet bills, unhealthy dogs and a determination to create dogs that could live healthier, more functional lives.
But it quickly became so much more.
Rescuing, training, showing, breeding, judging — generation after generation, every dog, every experience and the people we've met along the way have brought another lesson.
There have been successes, heartbreaks, mistakes and changes along the way. Through it all, the aim has remained the same: keep learning, keep improving and always do better by the dogs.
Today, Barbiebulls is still going stronger than ever.
Those years of dogs, people, experience and learning didn't just influence Bullbreeds United — they built its foundations.

Showing and judging had already been part of our lives for years. Nick has judged on and off over the years, and today we are both qualified bullbreed judges.
Our own journey into hosting shows began when we organised a show for a registry we had been involved with for many years.
That experience became a turning point.
We could see issues within the bullbreed world that we felt could no longer be ignored. Rather than simply complain about them, we chose to go our own way and start doing something about them.
Our shows became about more than ribbons and trophies. They became an opportunity to bring people together, educate, recognise good dogs and good people, and begin putting some of the things we believed in into practice.
One of those was our Open Nostrils Award — recognising something so simple, yet absolutely paramount to bullbreed health: a dog must be able to breathe.
The shows helped turn years of ideas, experience and frustration into action — and brought together the community that would become part of Bullbreeds United.

And so, the next chapter begins.
Bullbreeds United takes everything we've learned and turns it into something that can make a difference to the future of our breeds.
The bigger picture is education — giving breeders and owners honest, practical information, helping guide breeds in the right direction and encouraging people to understand not only WHAT we should be doing, but WHY.
We want to record health and longevity throughout a dog's lifetime, building meaningful data that can contribute to research, highlight patterns and give us a clearer picture of what is really happening within our breeds.
And our education doesn't come from copying and pasting whatever Google says.
It comes from real dogs, real breeders, real owners, real problems and hands-on experience — backed by proper research and evidence where it matters.
We won't pretend to know everything. Nobody does. We will keep learning, asking questions, listening to people with genuine experience and updating what we know as better information becomes available.
Because if we want our breeds to have a better future, we need to be honest about where they are today.

Health is more than a DNA panel. Longevity, breathing, movement, structure, eyes, heart, joints and quality of life all matter.
THE WHOLE DOG MATTERS
A dog should not only look like its breed. Temperament, function, health and the ability to live a normal active life matter too.
EDUCATION OVER JUDGEMENT
We want to give people information, explain why things matter and encourage better decisions rather than simply telling people what they are doing wrong.
HONEST RECORDS
Health information should not stop being collected once a dog has been bred from. What happens throughout that dog's lifetime matters.

Our aim is to grow internationally as an independent force, keeping the dogs, their education, and breed preservation at the heart of everything we do.
