🐾 GOLDEN PASTE FOR DOGS

INGREDIENTS

• ½ cup turmeric powder

• 1 cup water, plus a little extra if needed

• ā…“ cup coconut oil

• 1½ teaspoons freshly ground black pepper

METHOD

Add the turmeric and water to a saucepan over a low heat.

Stir gently for around 7–10 minutes, adding a little more water if needed, until it forms a thick paste.

Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly.

Stir in the coconut oil and freshly ground black pepper until thoroughly combined.

Transfer to a clean jar and store in the fridge. Make small batches rather than storing for long periods.

ADDING IT TO YOUR DOG'S FOOD

Start with a very small amount mixed into a meal and introduce gradually. Turmeric can cause stomach upset or loose stools in some dogs.

Golden paste is a food supplement, not a treatment or replacement for veterinary care. Turmeric can interact with some medications and may not be suitable for every dog. If your dog has a medical condition, takes medication, is pregnant or is due for surgery, speak to your vet first.
